Because of the bomb threat at the U there is no MINITEX delivery this morning which gives me enough time to try some of this. While Flickr seems like it could be usable on a personal level, I don't see any use for it in my position at work. I'm not a computer junkie who needs to be on it all the time in my outside-of-work life. Many of these things seem to be just another way to spend time...something I have none of at work and at home there are other things I enjoy more.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of all these things once I am done with this? I hate the idea of all these sites/logins/passwords just sitting out there forever when I have no need of them. Or do they just languish in space and wait for someone on these sites to delete after a certain period of time?

Sorry, I think your account usually hangs around for a while. Walt Crawford pointed out that some Web 2.0 sites usage may be exaggerated by the fact of lots of "phantom accounts". I would recommend using a junk Yahoo! email address and signing up as Ms. Materials M. Center or some such.
